OOTD – Red & Orange Professional Outfits

I’m finally continuing the long-awaited OOTD series! I’ve coordinated many outfits that I love since the last post I did, so I decided to organize them by color so I don’t overwhelm you all with my many looks.

I’m beginning with red, the first color of the rainbow and the first color of the chakras in Yoga philosophy. This post also includes two orange outfits, which are representative of the second chakra.

Side note- I finally began teaching the chakra yoga classes I’ve wanted to do since New Year’s on Friday!

Anyway, below are the looks. Enjoy!

    1. Red Stripes and Bells

This was an early-spring/end-of-winter look, and I think it packs a ton of attitude. The shirt was my mom’s and the skirt is an oldie from Forever 21.

These are my favorite Marc Fisher boots!! It is also my favorite birthday purchase #23

The necklace is a hand-me-down from my mom, and the earrings are alien spaceships I got from Hot Topic.

    2. Yogini

I love this kimono I got from Target. It totally elevates any outfit I pair it with.

My comfy grey dress was my mom’s and it’s by a young Russian designer that I found through Teen Vogue when I was in middle school. I honestly don’t know if she still designs or if her store in Manhattan is still there.

I got my shoes on clearance! They are Franco Sarto and they’re very comfy. I love the silver heel and how unique the color is. It’s like an orange-y red.

I got my turquoise necklace from a Native American store in the Grand Canyon. It is my favorite purchase from traveling to Las Vegas a few years ago. My earrings were a gift from my mom.

My blue beaded bracelet is a gift from my mom when she visited my grandma in Puerto Rico. I always ask her to bring me back jewelry when she visits because I love funky jewelry, especially when it’s handmade by someone who shares my heritage.

    3. Orange Orange

I was really vibing with the color orange the day I put this together lol

In the chakras, the color orange is related to sexuality and creativity. Perhaps these things were a little heightened for me.

Anyway, the sweater was my mom’s and it’s a perfect sweater for autumn because of its soft, warm browns. My shirt was probably less than $10 on clearance from Old Navy. My pants are from Kohl’s young professional collection.

Here’s my look without the sweater!

My shoes are Indigo Red and they’re so comfy and cute!

My necklace says “She Believed She Could” on one side, and the other side says “So She Did.” It was a graduation gift from my mom last May.

My earrings are a gift from my mom from her latest trip to Puerto Rico.

My eyeshadow look was created using Tarte’s Toasted palette I got for the holidays.

My bracelet was also from Puerto Rico.

    4. Be Mine, Clementine

This shirt was a gift from my mom when she went to Anthropology with my sister for my sister’s 21st birthday. Considering how expensive that store is, the shirt isn’t great quality. I am pretty sure it shrunk after washing it once, and that’s without drying it. Thankfully I got it in a big enough size so that it still fits. Otherwise, I love the shirt. It’s very fun and summery.

My skirt was my mom’s and it’s a perfect casual skirt for work because it’s denim yet it’s about knee-length.

My earrings are the same as above. My necklace was a stone that my late-grandma had collected, which was then transformed into a necklace.

    I love these shoes.

Both of my bracelets are handmade from Puerto Rico <3

Also, stay tuned for the yellow and green looks!

8 Fall Festive Outfits of the Day #OOTD

Autumn is my favorite season, thus my wardrobe has been very autumn-esque since August! I always take poor quality photos of my outfits, but I haven’t shared any of them on my blog since 2014!! So today, before the holiday season takes over, I thought it’d be fun to share some of my favorites this season. One day I will take photos with better quality and with better lighting, but in the meantime, bear with me.

    Hocus Pocus Forever

My girlfriend kindly surprised me with this Binx bag from Disney’s recent Hocus Pocus collection. I’m obsessed with this bag and I’ve been using it nonstop. It’s the perfect mix of eccentric and practical.

The shirt is also from Disney’s Hocus Pocus collection! The front says: Don’t light the black flame candle, and the back is pictured below.

My sister has glow-in-the-dark shirt Disney Halloween shirt. Disney had some awesome gear this year!

    Plaid Party!

The outfit above features my pastel pumpkin-colored pants from Hollister! I purchased these about three years ago when my sister was working at Hollister and I was working at Abercrombie. I matched my pants with an orange stone necklace my late grandmother had given me. Peep my green Halloween socks with witches!

The second plaid outfit above is newer. I purchased the pants from Target’s latest collection. They are comfy yet kind of stiff and loose…basically, the quality isn’t amazing but they will do for now. They look very cute though!

My shirt is from Abercrombie from about a year ago. My bag is Binx obviously, but in this photo, you can see my witch hand sanitizer case more clearly! That hand sanitizer case was part of a set from Bath and Body Works, the other one being a vampire, which my sister has. They have magnets inside so they connect when they’re next to each other, it’s very cute. Also, I’m holding my Buffy comic book because Buffy is the best thing ever.

    Working Girl

These next few outfits aren’t all super fall-esque, but they’re very cute!

This was my first day of work outfit! It features old pants that need to be donated and my mom’s old shirt and sweater. The necklace is a jasper and turquoise necklace, which matches the details on my shirt.

My mom got me the pants above recently for work! They’re from Kohl’s and they’re quite funky since they’re a black and white checkered pattern and ankle-length. They’re stretchy, comfy, and high-waisted, and I felt fabulous in this look! The shirt is also from Kohl’s but it’s about four years old now.

    Casual Working Girl

The sweater above is my mom’s old sweater, and I really love it. The style is fun and perfect for fall. I wore it with my light grey jeans, which remind me of scarecrows because they’re frayed at the ankles, from TJ Maxx.

This look is one of my favorites! I bought the earrings from the yoga studio I attended in the summer. They’re blue on the outside and orange in the center. I matched the earrings with the pendant that my step-grandma’s mom had, and this orange shirt my mom got me from the clearance section at Old Navy!

The sweater is my mom’s and the pants are the same grey ones from TJ Maxx.

    Halloween!

My Halloween look this year included my witch sweater from TJ Maxx and my Buffy cosplay coat from Hot Topic’s Buffy 20-year Anniversary collection last year! It has beautiful details that only Buffy fans would understand. I also wore Halloween bat earrings from Betsy Johnson, but I didn’t snap a pic of them.

Those are all my fall-festive outfits! Did you like this series? Should I bring it back?

    Becoming a Food Network Star

This is the first self-care post!

If you’ve read any of the three posts I’ve written since I returned from my hiatus, you would understand that I’ve been overwhelmed by heavy emotions and that I’ve been taking measures to improve my mood and well-being.  I’m currently on summer break and although I’m working two part-time jobs, they are jobs I can do from home and I have flexible hours so I have been able to ensure that I’m making self-care my priority!

Methods that I’ve taken to improve my well-being include working out, writing, and cooking.

I won’t be delving too much into my workout because I’m still trying to consistently go to the gym.  For two weeks I went twice a week and last week I went three times, so now I’m trying to go three times this week too.  I go for about 20-30 minutes…I want to eventually increase the sessions.  Otherwise, there’s nothing noteworthy about my workout (yet).

I’m not going to explore the writing method because I share all my publishable writing on here; therefore, I will solely be exploring cooking in these posts!  If I start getting into another type of self-care habit, I will definitely share it with y’all but in the meantime…I’ll only be talking about food.
